Seaford to Eastbourne :
Seven Sisters & Beachy Head

'This classic clifftop walk - one of the finest coastal walks in England - affords stunning (and very famous) views of the white cliffs of the Seven Susters, and the renowed Beachy Head, before ending in the elegant seafront town of Eastbourne. (...)
Note however that this is a very strenuous walk. Apart from the start, finish and a short section around Cuckmere Haven, almost none of it is flat, and there are several steep climbs. The very scenic section between Cuckmere Haven and Birling Gap in particular is a series of steep ascents and descents, and it is a long, though relatively gradual, climb up to Beachy Head. Note that the cliffs on this walk are eroding fast, and you are advised to keep well away from the edge at all times' Time Out Country Walks near London vol. 2.

Two leading singers from Calais – Patricia Donval and Gérald Berton – will be at Patcham Memorial Hall, to teach the songs (& some of the dances) for the afternoon. This is a unique opportunity to add these exciting and mesmeric two-part songs to your repertoire…

Later, a Fest Noz!
At 8pm our usual Bal à Samedi turns into a Fest Noz, with Patricia & Gérald, and our local musicians who play for Dansez Français’ dances each month.
Kan Ha Diskan is a Breton singing style, for pairs or small groups, especially done for Breton dances.
The songs are in simple French or Breton, and produce the most amazing energy and sound to accompany the hypnotic line/chain dances.

Le Breizho Continue!
Après s'être posé la question de savoir si le Breizho devait continuer à exister, nous avons reçu une réponse unanime en faveur de la continuation. Plusieurs personnes se sont proposées pour continuer à faire fonctionner l'association.
Il est vrai que les membres fondateurs on changé leur mode de vie et ne sont plus autant disponible qu'avant. Alors nous espérons que la génération Facebook va reprendre le Breizho à son compte et donner un coup de sang neuf a l'asso.
Je continuerais à donner un coup de main pour aider la transition, mais les nouveaux membres actif cuisineront cette nouvelle sauce à leur façon et nous espérons un renouveau.

Les rendez-vous du Jeudi continuent donc comme avant et de plus belle!

The South Downs Way and Virginia Woolf country

"This rewarding walk follows the South Downs Way along ridges of chalk grassland with panoramic views in all directions, keeping in sight of Lewes Castle almost throughout. The walk starts in the historic town of Lewes then quickly rises to follow the ridge of the South Downs Way. This week end, Brittany came to Paris and organised a giant 3 day festival in the capital.
Eight Bretoin Festival organisers got together and arranged concerts in all big music venue, fishing boat boarded the quays of the Seine and demonstration of dance, know-how, music and dance impressed parisians and visitors alike.

Le clou du spectacle was a giant parade on the Chanps Elysee with 3500 musicians and dancers from Brittany, Wales, Scotland, Cornwall and Galicia.

"This walk could almost make an all-day pub crawl, with a dozen pubs en route. The walk starts beside the Thames in Henley, goes down one of Henley's most ancient streets, out into a broad valley, to the church and pub at Rotherfield Greys (...). Then the walk goes to the church at Rotherfied Peppard, and thereafter it is fields, beech woods, mild hills and small villages. (...) The walk also goes to Boze Down Vineyard." Breton Dance Classes suspended,

Dear all, because of a forthcoming baby (one more) I have decided to stop organising Breton dance once a month on Sunday.
Still, the classes have taken place for 6 years in London and gave me lots of pleasure and fun.
I will join forces with Chris Shaw of On Bouge and help teach Breton dances every so often at the Welsh Centre on certain Mondays.
I will advertise the events when they happen.
